‘JAWS’ MOVIE SCREENING HEADED TO LARGEST PUBLIC POOL IN AMERICA
The screening event will offer free food and free entrance to use the pool
LOS ANGELES, CA – Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez and the City of Los Angeles will host a free outdoor movie screening of the 1975 classic thriller Jaws at the Hansen Dam Aquatic Center, the largest municipal pool in the United States. The event will offer music, free food (popcorn, water, and hotdogs), a mechanical shark, and resources to register for swimming lessons. Entrance to the pool is free.
The screening will be held at Hansen Dam Aquatic Center in Lakeview Terrace (11798 Foothill Blvd, Lake View Terrace, CA 91342) on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The movie will be screened at 7:30 pm.
“We are fortunate to have this incredible facility in our community,” said Los Angeles City Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez. “I’m proud to have created a unique experience for families to come and enjoy a great City resource.”
“We look forward this unique event with the Councilwoman,” says Mike Shull, General Manager of Department of Recreation and Parks. “We hope that it calls attention to the importance of water safety and swim skills which can make a world of a difference in the lives of recreational and experienced swimmers.”
Hansen Dam Pool Rules: Movie spectators will be allowed to watch the movie in the pool or on the sandy beach. Proper swim attire and water inner tubes are required to use the pool. The public is encouraged to pack a picnic, beach chairs, and water inner tubes. No alcohol or glass bottles are allowed. There needs to be one adult for every child 6 years and under. Children 3 and under must wear swim diapers. No white T-shirts are allowed in swimming pool. No smoking within Hansen Dam Aquatic Center (including e-cigarettes and vaporizers).
This is event is presented by Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez and is a part of the Councilwoman’s Summer Movie Night series in the Northeast San Fernando Valley. This event is in partnership with the City’s Department of Recreation and Parks in an effort to increase swimming and water safety throughout Los Angeles.
