ICE continues to violate our constitutional rights and is tearing our communities apart. I’m supporting the documentation of these abuses, so that when the moment of reckoning comes, those responsible will be held directly accountable.

Until that day, I will continue securing relief to the families and business owners who’ve been impacted by these discriminatory raids.

Happy Pi Day!

I stopped by Jack Loves Pizza in Tujunga, a neighborhood favorite that’s been serving the community since 2014.

Supporting small businesses matters now more than ever. That’s why I’m working to modernize the City’s small business tax exemption so shops making under $100,000 can keep more of what they earn and continue serving our neighborhoods.

Go out there and celebrate Pi Day by grabbing a slice and showing some love to our favorite neighborhood restaurants! 🍕

Illegal dumping negatively impacts our neighborhoods and the environment. We removed trash and debris from two locations in Pacoima and Mission Hills.

It takes all of us working together to ensure our community receives the services it deserves. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is proposing a new rule that would require families with mixed immigration statuses in programs like public housing and Section 8 to choose between remaining together and losing their housing.

Policies that separate families or push them into housing instability weaken our communities and harm our local economy.

Join me in helping keep families together by submitting public comment to HUD by April 21 at the link in my bio.

The Foothill lot adjacent to the offramp at Osborne had previously been impacted by multiple encampments. In 2022, working with service providers, Caltrans and Southern California Edison, we housed 40 individuals, cleared the brush and fenced the site. After years of remaining clear, the fence was compromised and we are working closely with Caltrans to again mitigate the brush and encampments that have recently populated this multi-jurisdictional lot. These conditions have created safety hazards and affected the surrounding community.

I’m proud to report the area has again been restored—clean, accessible, and safer for everyone, reflecting our ongoing commitment to community well-being and public safety.

It was an honor to join the Vega family as Casa Vega celebrated 70 years on Ventura Boulevard by unveiling its new patio expansion.

Family-owned, legacy businesses like Casa Vega create jobs, preserve our culinary traditions, and define our City. That’s why I’m committed to ensuring these iconic establishments remain pillars of our community for generations to come.

Doing the G.O.A.T. work in Sylmar 🐐🌿

For the past 5 years, we’ve brought in our four-legged landscaping crew to the Arroyo Women’s Shelter to tackle dry weeds and brush in the spots that are tough for crews and equipment to reach.

These goats don’t need gas, power tools, or herbicides, just an appetite and a hillside. They happily munch through overgrown areas while helping us keep the space safer and more fire-resilient in a natural, eco-friendly way.

Keeping our community safe from fire risk is a priority, and I will continue investing in smart, sustainable solutions like this to protect our neighborhoods.

Trabajando con nuestras cabras estrella en Sylmar 🐐🌿

Durante los últimos 5 años, hemos llevado a nuestro equipo de jardinería de cuatro patas al Arroyo Women’s Shelter para limpiar maleza y arbustos secos en los lugares que son difíciles de alcanzar para el personal y la maquinaria.

Estas cabras no necesitan gasolina, herramientas eléctricas ni herbicidas, solo apetito y una ladera. Con gusto devoran las áreas crecidas mientras nos ayudan a mantener el espacio más seguro y resistente a incendios de manera natural y ecológica.

Mantener nuestra comunidad protegida del riesgo de incendios es una prioridad, y seguiré invirtiendo en soluciones inteligentes y sostenibles como esta para cuidar nuestros vecindarios.

We worked with @bsslosangeles to repair damaged sidewalks in Mission Hills and Tujunga, replacing cracked and uneven concrete with smooth, accessible walkways that better serve residents, families, seniors, and everyone who relies on these daily routes.

These improvements don’t just enhance appearance — they increase safety, improve accessibility, reduce liability risk and help keep our neighborhoods connected. Every repair moves us one step closer to safer streets and stronger communities.

This event is all about bringing together the incredible principals and vice principals who stay connected with our office, along with our local LAPD SLOs, to share resources, build awareness, and strengthen the partnerships that support our schools.

This week at City Hall, I led a discussion with the Bureau of Street Lighting’s General Manager. I focused on the Bureau’s efforts to address power outages, copper wire theft, and repeated repairs of our City’s infrastructure.

No matter our budgetary constraints, my priority is ensuring the Bureau is utilizing all the existing tools and current resources it has to keep Los Angeles’ streets safe and well-lit.

Building partnerships beyond borders 🌎🤝
It was an honor to meet with the Consul General of El Salvador, Alejandro José Letona Alvarado
, and continue strengthening partnerships that serve Salvadoran families in our district. Last year, we celebrated a milestone by bringing the consulate to Pacoima City Hall for the first time, a step that reflected our dedication to accessibility and inclusion.

I am proud to continue building these relationships, and ensuring every family across Los Angeles feels supported.

Los Angeles cannot end the homelessness crisis with a system that lacks clear leadership and accountability.

Two years ago, I introduced a motion calling for a comprehensive review of how our City governs and coordinates its homelessness response. Today, the Chair of the Housing & Homelessness Committee finally chose to begin that discussion.

I renewed my call for the City to take direct control of its homelessness response and establish a structure that brings coordination, oversight, and results.

Angelenos deserve better accounting of their taxpayer dollars and better outcomes for those living on the streets.

This year, @immdef_lawcenter and @chirla_org joined us alongside our @lapdfoothill partners to help answer immigration-related questions and bring critical resources directly to our churches, where people turn to find guidance, support, and community.
