Team MRod partnered with @iconcdc this week at Pacoima City Hall to host a workshop helping local sidewalk vendors navigate the permitting process for their businesses. Attendees learned about licenses, permits, and applications all with free guidance and support. ✊🏽

In partnership with @ladwp1 we’re investing $140 million to beautify our community and improve power reliability by undergrounding wires in #CD7! This long-term improvement happening in Pacoima will enhance safety, reduce maintenance, and elevate the look of our neighborhoods. Here are a few quick facts you should know about this project:

- Street closures will range along Kewen Ave., Cayuga Ave., Tamarack Ave., El Dorado Ave., Ilex Ave., and Pinney St.
- This is estimated to be a year long project.
- This project is proven to reduce long-term maintenance and improve power reliability and overall aesthetics of our community.

I understand this may bring temporary inconveniences, but I fought for this investment because our community deserves stable power and a beautiful, modern streetscape. Thank you for your patience as we work toward a brighter future for Pacoima!

Our community’s well-being is my top priority, especially in the wake of the recent wildfires. I know that job losses can be a heavy burden, which is why I launched the Wildfire Relief Fund for Informal Service Workers in partnership with @iconcdc to provide direct financial assistance.

If you are a self-employed worker—such as a housekeeper, gardener, sidewalk vendor, caretaker, or chef—and have suffered income or property losses due to the wildfires, you may qualify for $250 (individual) or $500 (family) grants.

📍 You must live in one of these ZIP codes:
91040, 91042, 91331 (Pacoima & Arleta), 91340, 91342, 91343 (North Hills - Partial), 91345, 91352 (Shadow Hills - Partial).

I created Operation Bright S.P.O.T (OBS) to supplement existing city resources to beautify commercial corridors in our community and to respond quickly to blight. OBS recently removed overgrown weeds/vegetation in the Mission Hill area beautifying our communities.

I share the frustrations and concerns of residents regarding the health and safety hazards RVs pose in our neighborhoods. My team partnered with @lacitysan and @lapdhq to remove an abandoned RV on Sunland Blvd. in Shadow Hills.

We will continue to work with city departments and our community to accelerate these efforts to ensure #CD7 stays safe and clean. A huge shoutout to @lacityparks for prioritizing our community’s health and @baby2baby for donating air purifiers for our community! Today at Hansen Dam, we distributed over 700 air purifiers to families in need, providing immediate relief from hazardous air quality.

I was honored to join the San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center (SFVJACC) for their 66th Annual Luncheon and the installation of their 2025 leadership!

The SFVJACC is a volunteer-run organization with nearly 800 families dedicated to preserving Japanese culture and the Japanese American experience. I was proud to present a certificate of recognition for their decades of service to the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles.
